1.How to use ImseVimse, Momiji, Sckoon and Lunapads?

The Lunapads and the Sckoon pads come with 1 insertable liner.

(The Sckoon night pad comes with 2 liners)

The Sckoon pads have an outer pocket to put one or more liners in.

Each Lunapad (exept for the pantyliners) has ric-rac bands on top to hold one ore more liners depending on the heaviness of your flow.

Just slip in 1 or 2 liners (for moderate or heavier days) and place the side of the pad without the liner(s) down towards your underwear. The wings wrap around your underwear and snap together and keep the pad securely in place.

You can also use the outer pocket alone for a pantyliner and light days.

  • 1. Place the label-side of the pad down on the inside of your panty.
  • 2. Then fold the wings outside towards each other.
  • 3. Fasten the buttons.
  •
  • For keeping the best non-leakage effect wear tight underwear.
  • For extra absorbency you can add an extra pad with the same or a smaller size.

2. Why should I choose (organic) cotton washable postpartum/menstrual pads over disposables?

Washable cotton menstrual pads are made of 100% (organic) cotton. It is soft, very absorbent, and breathable, making them comfortable and irritant free. The pads designed for heavy flows, are also perfect for postpartum use, providing cushioning and extra comfort to ease postpartum pain.

While the convenience of disposables may seem obvious, other things are not so apparent.

  • Various chemicals, including dioxin, have been found in almost every major brand of menstrual pads and tampons available. Dioxin is a known carcinogen and even low levels of exposure have been linked to cervical and breast cancer, endometriosis, and immune system suppression.

  • If dioxin isn't enough to give you pause, pesticides used in cotton cultivation are showing up in disposable pads and tampons too and have been linked to birth defects, infertility, breast cancer, sterility, and respiratory problems.

  • Also, the plastic and glue backing on disposable pads reduces air circulation and creates a stagnant environment in which some bacteria thrive, causing vaginal irritation and yeast infections.

3. I have a heavy flow. Won't cotton pads leak?

Just like any other menstrual product, you will need to monitor and change your pads as needed to avoid leaking, but the pads will probably surprise you with their natural ability to absorb moisture and keep you feeling clean. The pads include a built-in leak resistant sheet to reduce accidents drastically.

4. How do I care for my new Cloth Menstrual Pads?

The pads are machine washable. Only the Sckoon pads are safe to put in the dryer, although you may choose to air dry them. For maximum absorbency, wash your new pads and liners once or twice before using them to remove the cotton natural oils. After first washing the colours might run a bit and the pad might become a bit smaller.

After use, rinse and soak them as soon as possible with laundry soap or other cleaning agent in cold water, and then wash and dry them like you would anything else.

You can fold the used pads as illustrated until you can soak and/or wash them.

To keep the high absorbent power as long as possible don’t use softener and don’t iron the pads.

By normal use the pads should last five years or longer.

5. How many pads do I need?

This is varying from woman to woman depending on the heaviness of your flow and the sort of pad you choose. If you have a light to regular flow you could start with a couple of pantyliners, some smaller size pads and some larger size pads to use at night. If your flow is heavier, you may need the largest pads as well. Extra liners to use with Lunapads and Sckoon menstrual pads are a good idea for heavier flows. But you can of course also try them first and then decide which and how many pads you need.

6. What if I’m using the pads for postpartum?

Try the large, night or heavy pads for best results.

7. Can I use the pads for incontinence?

The pads are a perfect choice for incontinence. The soft cotton will help prevent irritation and allow your skin to breathe, which is especially important for people who use them every day.

8. What do I do about changing and storing pads when I am away from home?

We offer a Momiji zipper purse for storing fresh and used pads and liners too. As soon as you come home, soak the used pads in cold water with laundry soap and wash them as usual.

9. What is the size of the pads?

The sizes of the different pads are mentioned in the shop followed by a short description about the possible use of the pad.
